SBI SO

The SBI SO exam is conducted by the State Bank of India (SBI) every year for recruiting candidates for the post of Specialist Officer in different specialized categories. The SBI SO recruitment is generally conducted in two phases- Online Test and Personal Interview, however, in many cases recruitment is done by shortlisting of candidates followed by personal interview.

The State Bank of India conducts the SBI SO exam to select officers in various specialist categories. It welcomes applications for expert officer (SO) recruitment as per vacancies in other departments.

Mostly, recruitment is done for managerial positions. Notifications for senior-level recruiting, on the other hand, are being issued. Recruitment is now underway for several functions.

In most circumstances, recruiting is in two phases: a private discussion follows an online exam and a personal interview; however, in some cases, shortlisting of candidates.

SBI SO Exam Eligibility

Age :

  • The applicant’s minimum age ranges from 21 to 30 years old, depending on the position.
  • An applicant’s maximum age range is between 62 and 66 years old.

Nationality :

  • Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
  • The exam is not open to OCIs or NRIs.

Post Education Qualification
Deputy Manager (Security) (Backlog) Graduation in any stream
Deputy Manager (Security) (Current) Post Graduate Management degree or MBA/ PGDM and full time BE/ B Tech in Electronics/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Computer/ Computer Science & Communication/ Electrical & Electronics or a combination of these streams.
MANAGER (RETAIL PRODUCTS), Senior Consultant, Data Trainer, Analyst, Assistant General Manager (Enterprise & Technology Architecture), Data Translator B.E. / B. Tech in Information Technology/ Computer Science MCA from a recognized and Approved University/Institution.
Post-Doctoral Fellowship PhD in Banking/Finance/IT/Economics related to BFSI sector.
Data Protection Officer Graduation or it’s equivalent.
Deputy Manager (Data Scientist), Deputy Manager (System Officer), Manager (Data Scientist) B. Tech/ M Tech in Computer Science/ IT/ Machine Learning and AI/ Data Science (Minimum 60% marks compulsory)
Risk Specialist MBA/PGDM, Chartered Accountant (CA) or CFA, (Finance/ Data Analytics/ Business Analytics) or its equivalent; M.Sc. (Statistics).

SBI SO exam pattern

There is a separate exam to recruit Specialist Officers as Assistant Managers, Engineers, Officers, Architects, Designers, Administrators, Tester, Manager, Analysts, Developers, and various other posts on a regular/ contractual basis. Candidates applying for a particular post must meet the minimum SBI SO eligibility criteria. The exam pattern for each of them is different.
