SSC – CHSL
SSC CHSL is a combined competition exam conducted to select Higher Secondary qualified students into various departments and offices of the government. The full form of SSC CHSL is the Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) carries out the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL, 10+2) Exam to recruit persons at various posts like: Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants(PA/SA) Data Entry Operator (DEO). Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC).

SSC CHSL exam every year for recruitment in many Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the govt. of India. The SSC conducts the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL, 10+2) exam for hiring to many posts like:

The basic SSC CHSL eligibility criteria are counting on 3 factors like age criteria, nationality, and academic criteria.
The complete eligibility criteria are as follows:
Nationality: Candidate should be an Indian citizen or ought to belong to Nepal/ Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, to forever settle in India.
Educational Criteria: should have cleared or appearing class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized educational board or University.
Age Criteria: Age should be between 18– 27 years as of January 1, 2021, however, certain reserved category candidates can claim for reservation according to the Indian government norms. Further specifically, the aspirants mustn’t be born before 2 January 1994 and not later than 1 January 2003.
- Nationality/Citizenship
To be eligible for SSC CHSL Exam 2022, candidate must be either of the following:-
- A citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal, or Bhutan
- A refugee of Tibet (China) who came to India before January 1, 1962, with an intention of settling permanently in India.
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from either/or Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries including Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with an intention of settling permanently in India.
- Age Limit
Age limit for SSC CHSL Exam has been set between 18 and 27 years of age. It means that the candidate should have been born between 2nd January 1993 and 1st January 2003.
- Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard Exam or intermediate exam to appear for the SSC CHSL Exam from a recognized Board or University. The following table provides you the details of all the educational requirements.

1. SSC CHSL Tier I Exam is an Objective Multiple Choice Question paper
2. Tier II exam is Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi

Please note that the total duration of Tier-1 is 60 minutes for all candidates. However, this duration extends till 80 minutes for PwD candidates.
SSC CHSL Tier-II Exam Pattern
SSC CHSL Tier-II is a descriptive type of test. In order to assess the writing skills of candidates in English/Hindi, the candidates have to qualify for Tier-II. This written test comprises an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/Application writing of about 150-200 words. The minimum marks that a candidate needs to score in SSC CHSL Tier-II are 33 per cent.
The total time duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped or suffer from cerebral palsy.
SSC CHSL Tier-III Exam Pattern
The Tier III of SSC CHSL 2022 comprises a couple of skill tests that are needed for selection to certain government posts. These include typing test, for which a candidate must have a 30wpm (Hindi Medium) and 35wpm (English Medium). The test duration is 15 minutes. For visually handicapped (40% disabled), 30 minutes will be provided. Finally, a merit list will be prepared after the typing test
